Game Development, End of Day 3

This is a new project that I started mainly for learning purposes. I've only worked on it for about one day per week for the past three weeks. But I figured that if I post weekly public updates, I’ll be more likely to make progress on this goal.
- Week 1: Learn to use Godot
- Week 2: Create a new project with several placeholder animations for different states
- Week 3: Replace placeholder animations with better art
So that's where I currently am, replacing the inital first-round placeholder art with slightly less bad, second-round placeholder art.
I started out with some concept art and sketches of basic assets I could use to build a level with.
Then I tried to figure out how to animate the character. I tried out Procreate Dreams but unfortunately it couldn’t really do what I needed it to do and it ran really slowly on my old iPad.
I’ve separated the tail and head in the file so that I can be very flexible with the character’s tail and head movements in the future.
I had some better success with Aseprite and its beautiful, usable timeline UI. (Although, I’m kind of forcing it into an artstyle it wasn’t designed for.)
Well, that’s all for now. Please feel free to let me know what you think of my ideas. As the artstyle for the game is still very early, I would love to hear your feedback on it.
Next week: I’ll be working on creating a map and basic level stuff to walk around in.
